What are the 1 year-old milestones for a podcast? Is it walking? Saying it’s first words? We’ve come a long way this first year. When we got into the podcasting business, we really had no idea what we were doing. Aside from a love of both good conversation and listening to in-depth interviews, we had a lot to learn. One thing we did learn is that people are interested in hearing more about abortion from experts. We now have several thousand dedicated listeners and are creeping closer to 75K downloads. According to listen notes, we’re now in the top 1% of podcasts!

For the most part, Jonas and I have learned how to use the studio equipment and it’s been at least 2 months since a major sound screw up (go, us!). We’ve even learned what most of the buttons on the sound board do.
Most importantly, we have had AMAZING conversations with thought leaders, experts, advocates, patients, and doctors who care very deeply about abortion access and see the impacts of the Dobb’s decision on the lives of every day American people.
Some of the highlights from this recent season include:
Chatting with Professor Caitlin Myers, Economist from Middlebury about the impacts of bans on travel and access for people living in the most restrictive states. She’s a genius, y’all! That’s an episode that should not be missed. It also has one of my favorite titles: Abortion on the Moon!
Our conversation with Dr. Daniel Grossman about medication abortion. He’s one of our research heroes and an expert on the safety of this form of abortion care that has been a game changer for folks living in ban states.
Talking with Renee Bracey Sherman about her new book and the importance of responsible storytelling. We were also lucky to host her during a recent visit to Durham where she read from her book and shared more of her amazing wisdom!
Our special Thanksgiving interview with Dr. Tania Israel highlights some tips about having meaningful conversations about divisive topics with those you know and love.
One of our favorite discussions was our live recording with Rev Katey Zeh and Rabbi Hannah Goldstein at Temple Sinai. This conversation about faith and abortion was beautiful and fun.
We spoke with Asha Dahya from the podcast Green Tide Rising about the Green Wave movement in central and South America. This episode is filled with hope and gives us a blueprint for progress in restrictive states.
